If you have fun watching my videos or reading my stories, come meet me in person this weekend! Look for the BDN outdoors booth at the 74th Eastern Maine Sportsmen’s Show at the Field House at the University in Maine in Orono. We aren’t far from the super-spicy, red-hot, hot dogs.
Bring along some hiking suggestions … or cookies — I’d also like that.

BDN outdoor writers Aislinn Sarnacki and John Holyoke pose for a photo in their beautiful, high-tech booth at the 74th Eastern Maine Sportsmen's Show in Orono on Saturday, March 10, 2012.
Outdoor editor John Holyoke and I will be there all day, talking with people, taking advice, sharing stories and goofing off (I might be sugar-high from all the delicious fudge being sold at the end of our row).
Eastern Maine Sportsmen’s Show Schedule: 5-9 p.m. Friday, March 9; 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday, March 10; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday, March 11.
Sure by the time you leave you might smell like beef jerky and popcorn. Taxidermy black bears and elk might haunt your dreams tonight. You’ll probably return home with lots of reading material you’ll never look at (though I’m sure you’ll read our new BDN Outdoors supplement/magazine that we’re giving out for free). But this is one great show.
I just walked past a live owl and spied Carhart jackets for $40 (and fleece vests for just $10). There’s something for everyone — guns and jewelry, duck calls and homemade jam.
If you do decide to mosey on over to Orono to check it out, make sure to stop by our booth and chat me up.
