Kristen Harris, my former coworker at Epic Sports, suggested I purchase Appalachian Mountain Club’s “Maine Mountain Guide” a few years ago. I was searching for a good collection of Maine trails, and Kristen told me that AMC’s guide included helpful maps and detailed trail descriptions. I believed her, bought it, and haven’t regretted that decision.
Since then, I’ve relied on that 9th edition to find many a trailhead. And so I’m excited to announce that the 10th edition of AMC’s “Maine Mountain Guide,” compiled and edited by Carey Michael Kish, was released on April 17. This edition includes 75 new trails and updated descriptions of more than 450 trails.
I’ll be writing more about this guide, including an interview with Carey Kish, in a story to be published in the BDN. But for now, I want to list the book launch events for all who are interested in meeting Kish and purchasing the new guide. The first event will be held this Wednesday in Bangor!
