Songs to keep you warm during fall runs

Upbeat tunes have always helped me get my butt outdoors and run, especially when the weather grows cold. So I played around on the internet in search for some recently released songs that are especially peppy’. Music that says, “Go, Team You!”

So I thought I’d share my new running playlist. You might like it. You might not. It might inspire you to do great things … or turn your volume down. Maybe it’s the middle of the week and you simple want a distraction from work. This will do.

Disclaimer: Keep in mind, if you’re listening to music while you’re running or working out, you can’t hear other things … like cars or trains or zombies. So you have to keep your eyes open, jog well off the road (sidewalks are good) and face traffic (in the closest lane, vehicles should be driving AT you).

Also, wear reflective clothing, especially in the fall and winter. It gets dark earlier. Drivers don’t expect to see runners like they do in the summer. If you can, take your run to a woodland trail. You’re less likely to get sideswiped by a white-tailed deer.

But the most important advice I’ll give you is to KEEP RUNNING. It may seem wicked chilly and dark when you get home from work, but it’s actually more comfortable to run in the fall. Sure you might start off with goosebumps, but after your heart gets pumping, the cool wind feels a lot better than the hot summer sun. I know you were working out this summer so you’d look good on the beach, but don’t let that box of sweaters tell you that it’s OK to stop your exercise routine.

And if you aren’t a runner, these songs will pump you up to walk, too! In fact, they will also inspire you to dance like a maniac while folding laundry and making stir-fry… I know.

Here we go…

1. “Some Nights” – Fun.

2. “Right In” – Skrillex

3. “Feel the Love” – Rudimental

4. “I Feel So Close” – Calvin Harris

5. “Drive By” – Train

Warning: If you don’t want to hear the F bomb every few seconds, make sure to download the CLEAN version, which I show here in the video. Still, not for kids.

(Make this your first workout song if you’re sleepy. hehe)
