Levi Daigle won the “Where in the Woods Am I?” game for Little Hurd Pond on the AT in January 2012 given these verbal clues and the following gallery of photos:
Last week, I checked out a snowshoe spot suggested by a BDN reader and outdoorsman. As many people will be able to guess from the white blazes in the photos, this hike is along a famous trail, and I certainly didn’t snowshoe from end to end. Try to guess the section I did snowshoe with hiking buddy Derek by viewing the photos below. Leave your best guesses in the comment section below. Winners gets an internet high five, a mention in the updated post and the gift of feeling awesome on Monday. Also, stay tuned for the “1-minute hike” video and write-up about this snowshoe, which will be posted tomorrow (Tuesday).
- The chief destination of the snowshoe, a pond. Obviously we did not walk out on the ice. It looks like an animal already tried that. :/
- MATC sign…
- Lean-to
- Ou est le toilette?
- Every once in a while we found big trees and I hugged them… just to show how big they are.
- Derek Runnells looks at two fallen trees that obstruct the trail on Jan. 10, 2013. It appears that one big tree took down the other.
- Does this photo make anyone else laugh? Or is it just me?
- A strange boulder than caught my eye.
- Every once in a while, we came upon some big trees.
- Much of the trail was uphill on the way in, and the snow was yet to be packed down by snowshoes.
- Deer track, to compare to that moose track.
- This should tell you a little something about the trail.
- A moose track!
