The BDN sent me to Monhegan Island a few weeks ago to report on a proposed wind turbine project, and to my delight, I was joined by BDN photographer Linda O’Kresik. We had a blast. Both of us had never been to the picturesque Maine island before, and we were pleasantly surprised at the warm and candid welcome we received by year-round island residents.

Because Linda was there to photograph and film for the wind turbine story, I was free to photograph whatever I pleased — in between collecting information and interviewing people, of course, for the written piece. So naturally, I turned to animals (particularly birds) and natural scenery. Here are a few of the photos I took while visiting the island.
