Yep, I’m still obsessed with bugs. You can blame it on my parents, who bought me a “bug hotel” when I was a little girl. I still feel sort of bad about all the creepy crawlies I probably killed in that little wooden box. Caterpillars do not make good pets.
Here are a few recent photos I took of bugs in my backyard and nearby parks. If you know anything about these particular insects, leave some comments at the bottom of the page. If you enjoy these galleries, let me know so I know to keep them coming!
- Lady bugs are pretty but stinky.
- A spider seemingly floating on air. Not cool.
- Oh just one of the many residents of my fence.
- Me trying to overcome my fear of spiders, one tiny little bug at a time.
- A pretty butterfly that liked my broccoli, which I failed to harvest in time.
- A hornet-wasp thing of some sort.
- A honey bee, all fuzzy and cute.
- Another type of bee, also rather fuzzy.
- A house fly alien.
- A spider that I will not be holding any time soon. Yes, it is as big as it looks. It was in my father’s raspberry patch.
- A saucer beetle with ninja grip. These are not scientific names.
- A caterpillar known as a tomato hornworm. It eats tomatoes and has horns.. on its butt. go figure.
- Buzz.
