Where in the woods am I? Branch Lake Public Forest

Jane Bromley Langley and Andy Soucier won the “Where in the Woods Am I?” game for Brookside and Marsh trails in Branch Lake Public Forest in Ellsworth in October 2014 given these verbal clues and the following gallery of photos:

Last week, I had a relaxing week of vacation. I stayed home, did some cleaning and construction projects, worked on my Halloween costume, went out to eat with friends, spent time with my family, and went on a few walks with Derek and our dog Oreo. One of these walks was particularly beautiful, so we decided to film it for this week’s “1-minute hike.”

See if you can guess what trails we explored (not too far from the Bangor area) by viewing some of the photos I took along the way. Leave your best guesses in the comment section at the bottom of the page. Winner gets a high five and a mention in the updated post. And as always, stay tuned for tomorrow’s big reveal, which will include a video of the mini adventure, as well as directions to the trail so you can go check it out.

Hint: The longest trail we explored was a “lollipop trail,” meaning it started as one trail, then split into a loop. The trail led to a canoe launch on a lake.
