The answer is… Parkman Mountain-Bald Peak loop hike in Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island! And the winner of this “Where in the Woods” trail ID contest is Kat Montminy of Bar Harbor. Kat guessed the location correctly and will receive a $15 Uno’s gift card in the mail for her efforts. 🙂
Here is the original contest post:
On Sunday, my husband and I traveled to the coast of Maine with our dog Oreo, and hiked on public trails to two peaks, both of which provided 360-degree views of the area. The hike was a loop. We took a trail up one mountain, then took a trail over to the other peak, then took a different trail down, circling back to the trailhead.
After viewing the photo gallery at the bottom of this page, can you guess what trail system we explored?

I have a $15 gift card to Uno’s restaurant in Bangor that I’ll send in the mail to one person who guesses the trail system correctly. Just view the photo gallery at the bottom of this post, then leave your best guess in the graphic here:
Photos from the hike:
- Derek is behind the rock holding the leash. 🙂
- Stop trying to read the sign. It’s too far away.
- Sorry, the words are on the other side of the post. 😉
- A bubbling brook we hiked down beside.
